CADG AGM

The Carrickedmond/Abbeyshrule defibrillator groups AGM will take place in the Rustic-Inn, Abbeyshrule on this Wednesday night, the 3rd December at 9pm. A number of guest speakers including Sarah Caine from the Irish Heart Foundation, Dolores Cunnane Counsellor who deals with daily stress and Thomas Price a recent cardiac arrest survivor will be present on the night. The CADG will be presented with their second Heart Safe Community award by Sarah Cain from the Irish Heart Foundation on the night. This award is in recognition of each step which the group has taken to strengthen their chain of survival in the area. The outgoing committee have now served seven years in office. In that time the committee have built up the number of public access and responder defibrillators to ten throughout the parish. Also in this time over four hundredth people have been trained on the AED and on how to administer CPR to a patient in cardiac arrest. The aim of the group going forward is to continue with training and to promote healthy living and exercise to everyone in the parish. The committee invite all members of the Carrickedmond/Abbeyshrule community to attend this important meeting.

Badminton

Badminton continues in St Sinneach’s Hall, Carrickedmond on Wednesday nights. New members welcome.

House Stations

The last of the autumn house stations will take place at the home of Geraldine Steward for the Doory/Currabaen/Listubbitt areas on the 5th December at 8pm.

Christmas Cards

The Abbeyshrule Tidy Towns Christmas Card will be available from December 1st in The Rustic Inn for €1 each. This year’s theme is “The Seven Bridges of Abbeyshrule”.

Christmas Craft Fair

The Abbeyshrule Christmas Craft Fair will be held at the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule on Sunday, 14th December from12 noon to 6pm. There will be over 20 Art, Craft and Food stalls and lots of special Christmas gifts for sale. Also from 1pm to 2:30pm and from 2.30pm to 4pm there will be the usual Children’s craft workshops (€3 per child). Festive food will be served all day and there will be a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus at 4.15pm with stories, music and gifts (€3 per child). A Raffle will held in aid of M.W.B.
