The local lotto draw was held on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 3-7-22-30. There was no jackpot winner. â‚¬40 went to Brian Kavanagh, â‚¬20 each went to Pat Fallon, D. Smith and Gerry Shanley. The next draw will take place in The Chestnut Tree, Killashee on Sunday, 14th December, for a jackpot of â‚¬7,040. There will be extra prizes that night for the Christmas draw, including Turkey,ham and other prizes. The club greatly appreciates your continued support.
The group wish to remind all the people to be extra vigilant at this time with long dark evenings and the possibility of inclement weather. Make sure you keep doors and windows locked. Secure your heating oil tank and make sure you have an adequate supply of fuel. Check on the elderly relatives and neighbours regularly- have they heating, food, etc. If you see or hear anything suspicious contact your local GardaÃ immediatley and make note of registration numbers.
Wolfe Tone Hurlers
Commiserations to Wolf tones hurlers who were defeated in the Leinster club final on Sunday last by Clara. The match was played in Tubber, Offaly.
The good work continues in the village with ongoing maintenance of the village centre and approach roads and the planting of more daffodils which will brighten up the village when Spring days are with us again. All of this work takes effort and of course money so we are urging all the support our annual Christmas raffle. Tickets costing â‚¬2 each are available from any committee member and prizes include a Christmas Hamper, Christmas Cake and other goodies. the draw will take place on Saturday 20th December in the Chestnut Tree pub. Your support would be appreciated. The next meeting of the group will be held in Killashee National School on Tuesday, 9th December at 8pm. New members are always welcome.
Congratulations to Caroline Oâ€™Reilly, Cloontagh who took part in The Strictly Come Dancing â€˜â€™Over the Bridgeâ€™â€™ competition last weekend in Athlone. Caroline along with all the other contestants, put in a huge effort over the past few weeks in preparation. Well done to all.
Newtowncashel Tidy Towns committee are holding a Table Quiz in The Pier Inn on Friday, 5th December at 9pm. There will be cash prizes and a raffle. Table of four costs â‚¬40 and refreshments will be served.
Southern Gaels presentation night takes place in The Hill, Newtowncashel tonight Wednesday, 3rd December at 7.30pm. Presentation of medals for U-12s, U-14s and U-16s will be made by Michael O Muircheartaigh. A raffle will also be held on the night.
Table tennis training for boys and girls U-13 will take place on Saturday, 6th December at 11am in the Clubhouse, Killashee.
