We send all our very best wishes to popular Dromod man, Niall O’Connor who hits off to New York today to start new employment there. Indeed, it is the end of an era for Dromod with Niall’s departure also coincides the closing of O’Connor’s supermarket, a Dromod landmark for many many years.

Josie Martin Scholarship
Are you attending college this autumn? The Josie Martin scholarship is available through each Credit Union in Leitrim, to the value of €1000. Eligible applicants must have a Credit Union Account. An open draw will be held and one student from each Credit Union will win €1000. The scholarship will be available to full time first year students attending a recognised third level college and will be for one year only. Application forms available from Annaduff Credit Union & should be returned before 30th September.
Annaduff 5k fun run
The 3rd Annual Annaduff 5k fun run will take place on sun next September 28th. Starting and finishing at Annaduff national school. Registration on day from 11am, race start at 12pm. Spot prizes, entertainment and refreshments served afterwards. Entry fee €10 or €20 per family. All runners’ walkers and pushers very welcome. Proceeds to Annaduff national school parents association.
We would like to send our condolences to Tom and Mary Shanley, Cloonboney on the death of Mary’s brother, Peter Farrell, Tallaght, Dublin and formerly from Tarmonbarry, Co Roscommon who passed away on Thursday last at his home in Tallaght. Peter was laid to rest in Bohernabreena cemetery Dublin yesterday (Tuesday). May he rest in peace.

Bornacoola GAA 125th Anniversary
Bornacoola GAA 125th Anniversary 2014, this is the 125th anniversary of Bornacoola’s affiliation to the GAA. The club will be hosting a commemorative day on Saturday, September 27th which will include a special club mass and a get together in the Community Centre at which we will reflect on the club’s long and proud history. In the meantime we are collecting any old memorabilia related to the club that may be out there and in particular items from the 1970’s, 80’s and the period around the 1940-50’s.
