Store nets Top Retail prize
Congratulations to Kiernan’s Centra on being presented with the Supreme National Hygiene Award at the recent 2014 Centra Quality Awards held recently in Killarney.. This award identifies and honours retailers that have gone above and beyond in their strive to maintain a consistently high level of hygiene in their stores over a three year period. What a fantastic achievement for this Drumlish store and for Centra stores, Longford. So hats off to Charles, Margaret and Vincent Kiernan and their dedicated staff on this auspicious occasion, and well done to all concerned.
Welcome Home & Bon Voyage
Eileen, daughter of Eileen Creegan, (formerly Drumlish), her husband, Larry and daughter, Megan all from California have been holidaying in the Drumlish area for the past few weeks. They have not been in the area for over 30 years, so were delighted to see old friends and family members. They stayed with Myles and Kathleen and also visited Eddie Crowe, (Currabawn) in Co. Clare whom they knew very well while Eddie was in California. By all accounts they had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed their visit thoroughly. Here’s hoping it won’t be another 30 years before they return again to their “Native Town Drumlishâ€. They have now returned to California and we hope they carry with them treasured memories of their holiday in the area.

Now that the new extension to the Cemetery has been completed, wouldn’t it be nice to have a special Cross reflecting Calvary and the hope of resurrection there. If there is any parishioner or family who would like to donate or finance a Calvary Cross and scene to complete the beautiful work done. The cost of such would be something similar to the cost of erecting a headstone. It’s a big ask in difficult financial times, but it’s a worthwhile investment. Thank you.
