A big thank you to all who attended and helped out at the Coffee Morning in aid of the Special Olympics held in Carrigallen Hall on Sunday, 13 April 2014. A total of â‚¬270 was raised and lodged in the Special Olympics Account. Again thanks to everyone.
RTÃ‰ All-Ireland Drama Festival
â€˜The Devilâ€™s Ceiliâ€™ showed a wealth of talent, immense invention and a director in top formâ€, said adjudicator, Russell Boyce of Corn Mill Theatre Companyâ€™s production of the Devilâ€™s CÃ©ilÃ on Saturday night last, 3 May in the Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone. The results will be announced next Saturday night, 10 May and wishing them every success on the night.
Carrigallen and Drumeela Active Age are supporting the Alzheimerâ€™s National Tea Day again this year. Alfie and Ann Harte, on behalf of Active Age, will be hosting a Coffee/Tea day at their home 10 Cois Locha, Carrigallen on Monday, 12 May from 11:00am to 4:00pm, with all proceeds going to the Irish Alzheimerâ€™s Society. Please support us, you will be assured of a very warm welcome, and some delicious cakes!
The late Kenneth Worrell
Kenneth Victor Worrell of Kilbracken Lodge, Kilbracken, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim, formerly of Malahide, Co Dublin, died suddenly on Sunday April 13 at Cavan General Hospital. Ken was a highly-qualified electrician by trade, and won a gold medal for Ireland in the International Apprenticeship Competition while serving his apprenticeship with ESB. He founded the very successful Worrell Electrics of Malahide. Although an electrician by trade, his first love was working with wood and wood turning at which he excelled.
He was survived by his wife Linda and three children, Karen, Steven and Susan, and his brother Willie, partner Noeleen, sister-in-law Olive, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he Rest in Peace.
Lotto resultsâ€¨The draw was held on Saturday, 3 May 2014 and the numbers drawn on the night were 5, 7, 24, and 25. There was no Jackpot winner and the four winners of â‚¬50 each were Ray & Betty McDermott (14 Club), Lar Lynch, Cathal Sheridan, and James McGrory. Next weekâ€™s draw will be held on 10 May and the Jackpot will be â‚¬11,600. Those in charge on the night will be Bonnie Oâ€™Rourke, Ann McGovern and Noel Kiernan.
