Westmeath’s fittest company

Congratulations and very well done to Mergon International Ltd., Castlepollard, on winning the inaugural event of Westmeath’s Fittest company which took place in Columb Barracks, Mullingar, recently. The event was in aid of Irish Autism Action, and 120 competitors from 11 companies participated. Mergon team 3 were the eventual winners, with 19 points, three ahead of their nearest rivals. The Mergon Team 3 consisted of Aoife McGuinness, Rose Grall, Joan Hyland, Gary Kelly, Colm Dardis and Kevin Coffey.


Acquired Brain Injury Ireland are hosting a Work4You Information Stand in Castlepollard Library on Wednesday, May 7th, between 10.30am and 1.00pm. The aim of the event is to create awareness of the specialist service available which provides a free vocational assessment for individuals who have an acquired brain injury and are in receipt of a payment from the Dept. of Social Protection. Walking Festival

Boherquill Ramblers are holding their annual Walking Festival on the weekend of May 9th to May 11th. Events will begin on Friday evening, May 9th, in Tullynally Castle at 7pm, Saturday, May 10th, a variety of walks in Mullaghmeen Forest starting at 11am, and Sunday, May 11th, starting at 11am.
