It is well advertised blood is always in short supply so if you can at all go to the Bush Hotel, Carrick on Shannon today Wednesday between 4.30 and 8pm where you can donate a pint of blood , it only takes a half hour.
We hit the Abbey Theatre in Dublin on last Friday night to see the Abbey players perform the magnificent John B Keane play “Siveâ€. It started on the button 7.30 and what a riveting performance of what was the happenings back in early 1950’s (thank God them days are gone). To me it brought back great memories our staging of it in Cloonturk hall back in 1976 (I think). Sadly some of our cast have gone to that big theatre in the sky Aiden Cox, Mick O’Hara and Stanley Cox and our director Junior Daly may they rest in peace but the rest of us Rose, Veronica, Mary, Shay, Gerry and myself are still to the good thank God. It is great to see that this type of show can still have full houses for nearly a month of a run and receive a standing ovation on each occasion. If you have any interest in dramatics I would highly recommend this show, you won’t be disappointed a great night entertainment.
