The death has occurred on Monday last of Mr William (Willie) Kielty, Cullaghamore, Slatta. The deceased was a popular postman for many years and very involved in the community in Slatta. Willie was a gentleman and well regarded by all who knew him. Deepest sympathy is extended to his nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours and all who mourn his loss. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Deepest sympathy is extended to Evelyn Hanley and family, Rooskey on the untimely death of her niece, Roisin Boyle Walshe, whose funeral mass took place to Keadue church on Friday last. May she rest in peace.

One act plays
Kilglass Gaels two comedy one act plays, directed by Mick Quinn and Seamus Nugent will take place in St Barryâ€™s GAA Hall on Friday, 7th of March at 8.30pm. It is an opportunity for those who missed them this weekend to see them.
Well done to James McGlynn on his successful darts night on Sunday last for Mayo Roscommon Hospice. Well done to all involved.
Following on from the first successful scout meeting in the parish, a large enthusiastic crowd turned out on the night. Another meeting will take place on Wednesday the 5th of March in Kilglass Gaels clubhouse. All are welcome. It is hoped to start the scouts in this area.

Official opening of the newly refurbished pitch will take place over the Easter weekend. The schedule of events so far is as follows: Friday 18th of April, underage coaching for boys and girls with county footballers followed by fun and games in the clubhouse. Friday night monster table quiz with great prizes on offer. Saturday: Ladies activities during the day, Saturday evening, underage disco. Saturday night: 80â€™s disco with prizes for the best costume etc. Easter Sunday: League game; Kilglass Gaels v St Barryâ€™s. Official opening by GAA president at 3pm approx. Challenge game with Roscommon, opposition to be confirmed. Sunday night: Great night of dancing, refreshments, presentations and some very exciting surprises. Bar license on Saturday and Sunday. Please support this unique weekend.
