Community numbed

The entire community and beyond are in a state of shock and disbelief as the news spread of the tragic and untimely death of Bernadette Kenny. Bernadette was a member of the large and well respected Kenny family, Foxhall and was a pillar of the local community all her life. She was well known on the music scene having led her own Ballad Group and was choir master in St Mary’s Church for many years. She was a great GAA supporter, particularly at local level, having played for Legan ladies when they had a formidable team at the time. She was also a very loyal employee and for the past number of years has been Constituency Secretary for Deputy James Bannon, where she had established a great rapport with the public. Above all Bernadette was a kind and loving mother, daughter and sister, having cared for her parents before their deaths. She will be sadly missed by her many good friends, neighbours and particularly by her son, Jamie, her brothers Sean, Jimmy, Eddie Joe, Oliver and Patrick, her sisters Eileen, Josephine, Teresa, Margo, Betty, Martina, Claire and Fiona, her nieces nephews cousins relatives and friends. The high regard in which she was held was evident in the huge numbers attending at her Reposing, Removal and Funeral. She was laid to her Eternal rest in Ardagh cemetery following Requiem Mass. May she rest in Peace.
