The Drumreilly v Dromahair Division 1 game was originally fixed for the latterâ€™s venue, but on request was re-fixed for PÃ¡irc Droim Oir Bhealaigh on last Saturday afternoon. The visitors emerged with a 1-12 to 1-9 victory. Ballinamoreâ€™s 33rd Drama Festival will run from March 7th to 16th. John B. Keaneâ€™s popular comedy will feature on the opening night, and it will be followed on Saturday night by another comedy â€œThe Hen Night Epiphanyâ€. You are invited to come along and enjoy the plays and enjoy a â€œcuppaâ€ and a chat. There will be admission concessions for O.A.Ps and students. Drumreilly ForÃ³ige Club members request your support for their Table Quiz a fundraiser which will be held in the Community Centre on Saturday March 8th at 9pm after Mass in St. Maryâ€™s. Refreshments will be served.
Recalling February 1993
Mary McKeon led a big field home in the second leg of the Leitrim Road League in the U-10 100 metres event in Manorhamilton. The following players travelled to Fenagh to take part in a County Minor trial: Christopher Mimna, Ollie Maguire and Thomas Connolly. Leitrim, who won against Cavan in a senior League game had to finish the game without Gerard Holahan was forced to retire through injury. Leitrim with sterling performance from Martin McCartin (goalkeeper), Aidan Holahan (defence), Pat Connolly (midfield) scored a convincing against Sligo in the Hastings Cup competition. Nine-A-Side League with a 3-8 to 1-1 win over visiting Bornacoola at Carrickmakeegan. The lineout was Gene Connolly, Christopher Mimna, Thomas Connolly (0-4), Denis Smith, SeÃ¡n Mitchell, PÃ¡draig Lunney (0-1), Connell McGovern (0-1), Oliver Maguire (2-00 and Noel McGirl (1-2). Sub used: Ciaran Holahan. The death took place in England of Mr. George Woodâ€™s, Crickeen.
There was no Jackpot winner in the Lotto draw held in Shorttâ€™s Bar on Wednesday, February 12th. The numbers drawn were 1, 6, 9 and 26.
