A very happy Christmas to you all. Go mbeirimid beo ar an am seo arÃs.
In preparation for the Vigil Mass on Christmas Eve, there will be choir practice in Cornageeha Church tomorrow night, Thursday 19th at 7pm. This practice is for everyone, so if you wish to be involved, come along.

Mock Wedding Premiere
There was a hilarious night out in Gortletteragh Community Centre on Friday night last with the hosting of the ‘Mock Wedding of the Year’. Wasn’t it wonderful to see the hall packed to capacity and everyone able to have a good laugh. The Gortletteragh schoolchildren and the choir were fantastic on the night. Barbara and Mel and their helpers must be commended on putting together such a high quality variety show, a massive logistical feat by any standards with well over 100 people involved in this production. For anyone who, for whatever reason didn’t make the show on Friday night, will get another opportunity to enjoy this rare wedding as it will be staged again on Sunday night, December 29th in Lough Rynn Castle Hotel. So keep that date free in your diary.
Rugby Cup Final
We wish James Heslin, Keeldra and his Moyne C.S. team, the very best of luck in the Leinster Schools’ Junior Cup final which is being played today, Wednesday. The Moyne lads take on St. Conleth’s College, Dublin in the decider. Hopefully James can bring another provincial medal back to Gortletteragh but either ways be sure to enjoy this big sporting occasion.
The death occurred on Saturday last of Tessie Mahon, Cattan, late of Donnybrook and formerly of Queens, New York. Her remains were received by Rev. John Quinn at St. Mary’s Church, Gortletteragh on Sunday evening and Tessie was laid to rest in Gortletteragh cemetery after her funeral mass on Monday. We tender sympathy with her brother Dinny, sister-in-laws Margaret and Mary, the Sorohan family, her nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
