Next Wednesday. December 18th, sees the eagerly awaited Parish Gathering & Social taking place in Hotel Castlepollard between 8pm and 10.30pm. Among the many artists performing on the night will be Mick Foster, John Rabbitt, Noel Battle, Matt Leavy, Clann Lir CCE, Paud Griffin, Eddie Quinn, Enda Cassidy and Joe Meehan. A great nightâ€™s entertainment is guaranteed, and the Parish Annual Draw will take place on the night, with prizes ranging from 250.00 euro in cash, hotel voucher, turkeys, hamper etc. Finger food will be served on the night, and there will be no admission fee. All are welcome.

The date for Castlepollard Community Collegeâ€™s Christmas concert has been changed to Thursday evening, December 19th, at 7.00pm. The Parents Association is appealing for volunteers to help with stage design, rehearsals, painting, etc. For further information contact Linda on 086-8811891.
There will be a fundraising walk in aid of Chernobyl Children fund on Christmas morning between 10.00am and 12.00 noon at Ringtown GAA Sports Complex, Whitehall, Castlepollard. Take the opportunity to work up an appetite for Christmas dinner and support a very worthy cause.
Next Friday, December 20th, sees the conclusion of the year long celebrations to mark the 175th anniversary of St. John the Baptist Church, Whitehall, Castlepollard. Celebrations began on January 6th, with an event every month, and the final event will be Mass On Friday next, december 20th, at 8.00pm. Following Mass an inscribed commemorative candle will be presented wo every family in the parish, and a short talks will be given by John Smyth, a parish native. A time capsule will be filled and placed in the church to be opened for the 200th anniversary. This will be followed by a candle light procession out to the cemetery where the candles will be placed around the crucifix a short prayer will be said to remember all those who have gone before us. The evening will conclude with tea and refreshments in Ringtown GAA Complex. All are welcome.
