IFA

A large crowd attended the recent AGM of the local branch of the IFA . County chairman Andrew McHugh and a rep from Teagasc were in attendance. Voting for the position of President of the IFA also took place. The following people were elected for the coming year. Chairman: Noel Molihan, Secretary: Charlie Reilly; Registrar: Damian Reilly, Female officer: Anne Sheridan.

Lotto

Yearly lotto tickets are available for 100 euro. This includes all 52 lotto draw and club membership which normally costs 20 euro. Contact Ml O’Sullivan or Michael Carrigy. Numbers drawn 5, 12, 18, 30. 1 match 3, Seamus Maguire, Soran, 60 euro. Sellers prize Pat Devine. Jackpot 8,700 euro. Draw in Farrell’s on Monday night at 9.30pm.

Crib

Many thanks to all who helped erect the crib and tree in the village and to the children who sang so beautifully on Sunday evening last. Great to see a big crowd for the turning on of the lights.

Rural Transport

Longford Community Resources Ltd (LCRL) manage and administer the Rural Transport Programme, which covers the rural regions of county Longford. Many thanks to all the passengers and stakeholders who have supported and indeed campaigned for the continuation of the programme throughout the year. Spaces are still available for this “Door to door” service in your area, please contact your local provider or to Seamus (co-ordinator) at 043 3345555 slee@lcrl.ie. All age groups are welcome. Timetable: All routes for 2013 will be completed by Tuesday the 31st December. Services for 2014 will resume on Thursday 2nd January. Longford Community Resources would like to wish all passengers and everyone who supports the rural transport programme “a very happy and peaceful Christmas and good wishes for the new year”.
