Laura’s portraits exhibition

Dr Laura Doherty, daughter of John and Pat, Esker, Killoe, welcome everyone to her exhibition of “Laura’s First Portraits” in Longford County Library on Friday, 11 October 2013 at 7.30pm. Exhibition will be launched by Tiernan Dolan with special guest Mayor Paul Connell. All proceeds in aid of “Jack and Jill and Make a Wish” foundation. The parish extend good luck Laura and well done.

A lotta ! Lotta ! Big birthdays

Congratulations to Paddy Lynch, son of Pat and Kathleen, Ballinalee, Mark Hughes, son of John and Kathleen, Ohill, Killoe, Ronan Keogh, son of Danny and Mary, Kellether, Killoe; Darah Bennett, son of Damien and Yvonne, Ballinalee who were joined by families and friends in Coy’s pub, Longford to help them celebrate this very big important birth date, giving you all your own key to the front door (or the back door might do). The parish extend good wishes to all the lads and their families. A special welcome to all your friends who travelled to join the occasion and hope everyone enjoyed their party and wish all of you good luck with your further studies. Coffee morning

A coffee morning event in aid of palative care Longford hosted by Peter and Patsy Cumiskey, Longford Country House, Ennybegs, Killoe will be held on Thursday, 10 October 2013 from 9.30am to late into the night. Everyone is very welcome to support this worthy cause.

Pro life campaign

National conference will be held in the Alexander Hotel Dublin on Saturday October 12 from 1.30pm – 4.30pm. Theme being “a time of challenge”. Further details contact tel 085 2716066.

Social dancing

In Ennybegs Community Centre on Tuesday nights from 8pm – 10pm with tutor Lilah Beatty. Everyone is very welcome.

Blood donors

The national blood donors clinic will be on site in the Longford Arms Hotel Longford on Wednesday/ Thursday 9th and 10th October 2013 from 4- 8pm. Your support to give blood will save a life.

Killoe old graveyard

Rosary rally

On behalf of our country and Ireland a rosary rally and crusade will be held in the Emmet Og GAA grounds Killoe (approx 3 miles from Longford town by-pass taking Ballinalee/ Granard exit) on Sunday 13 October 2013 from 3.15 – 5.45pm. A number of prominent well known speakers singers will be present on the day. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is very welcome to join in the holy rosary and give thanks for our spiritual guidance and health.

A leaflet and prayer card available throughout the diocese at church doors containing a message from our new bishop elect Francis Duffy whom the parish extend prayerful good wishes also to retired Bishop Colm O’Reilly.
