Blood donors clinic success
The Irish blood transfusion service wish to thank the 198 donors who attended the recently held clinic in Loch Gowna. A breakdown of total figures show that nine first time donors and 14 former donors attended the clinic. Also thanks to everyone who helped to make this clinic a success.
Arva Active Age Committee invite Loch Gowna Active Age to a tea dance in the Breffni Arms Hotel Arva on Sunday 20th November from 4pm to 7pm.Everyone welcome.
Sympathy is extended to Mrs Kathleen Degnan and family, Cullinmore, Dring, on the death of her husband, Tom which occurred on Monday, 30th September at his home. His remains were removed from his residence on Wednesday evening to St Columbas Church, Mullinalaghta and following funeral mass on Thursday, burial took place in the local cemetery. May he rest in peace.
Social dance classes
Social dance classes in the Pikers Lodge Hotel, Loch Gowna every Thursday night, dancing from 8- 10pm. Learn to waltz, jive, quickstep and foxtrot. No partners needed. Cost 10 euro per two hours. For more information please contact Eamon Cunniss on 085 8012187.
Loch Gowna and Upper Erne Anglers Association will host open boat pike fishing competition on Sunday next 13 October. Venue: Derries. This competition is to raise funds for Hughie Brady, Arva who is undertaking a trek on the Atlas Mountains, Morrocco in aid of Crumlin Childrens Hospital, Dublin.
Scor AGM will be held in St Brigid’s Community Centre, Loch Gowna on Thursday night next October 10th at 9pm. Preparations for Junior Scor will begin on night as Junior Scor dates set for November. All parents wishing to help out please attend.
New bishop ordained
Congratulations and best wishes are extended to Fr Francis Duffey on his ordination as new Bishop of the Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnois in St Mary’s Church, Athlone on Sunday last 6 October. We also wish Bishop Colm O’Reilly many years of good health and happiness in his retirement.
Mullahoran sponsored walk
Rose Dalton and the committee would like to thank everybody for their generous donations. A total of 8,230 euro was collected this year and was presented to three worthy charities, the Irish kidney Association, SOSAD and Punchestown Kidney research. Thanks again for your continued support.
