Brendan Donoghue RIP
The passing of Brendan Donoghue, Cullaghamore, Scramogue has come as a great shock to us all that know him and attended school with him. We extend our good wishes to Sony, his Dad, brothers Jim and Kieran, Uncle, Aunts, cousins and close friend Marie Beirne, cousins Jim Faughnan and Margaret Murphy and others close to the family and we pray that all of those grieving for Brendan will get the strength to deal with the great ache they all must feel right now. Brendan attended local National School before he attended Scoil Mhuire Secondary School, Strokestown. After successfully receiving his Leaving Cert, Brendan carried on to UCD where he was most successful in the Ag Science arena. Wherever Brendan went he made many friends who enjoyed his company and great loyalty. Brendan loved farm machinery and indeed anything with a motor or an engine in it was an immediate attraction. Friends and family would tell you that Bren often took such things apart when out of working order and put together pretty quickly and more importantly back in working order. Brendan lived in the town of Balilieboro in Cavan where he was involved in some amateur Drama and also ran a Agri-Consultancy business. Large crowds turned out to support the Donohue family and pay their respects to Brendan as he lay in repose at Leavy’s Funeral Home, Scramogue recently. His funeral Mass which took place at St Anne’s Church, Scramogue was again attended by a large crowd. Burial took place in Scramogue Cemetery. During his homily Fr. Eamon O’Connor PP spoke of Brendan’s simple lifestyle, his love and appereciation of children and meeting up with his friends for a few sociable drinks. May Brendan’s soul rest in peace.
