Day Outing to Derry City
WIT are organising a one day trip to Derry City which will happen on Oct. 23rd. next leaving Lus na Greine at 7.45 am. The day will include a tour of the Bogside Area, The Guild Hall, and City Walls. Lunch will be included and there is time allowed to look around the craft quarter and the shops. Places available and full details from reception.
New Pre-Employment Course
If you are currently unemployed, trying to get back to work, in receipt of a social welfare payment then this is the course for you. We welcome participants to our six week programme which will take place over half days from Nov. 4th. Developed collaboratively with other agencies it incorporates a variety of employment supports. Applications now being accepted.
We have our Kiln up and running and are now taking names for our Pottery classes which will commence on Tuesday mornings from 10 am – 12 pm.
Commuity & Voluntar Fora
Will take place in the centre on Tuesday evening next the 8th. October. Local groups are invited to come along to contribute to debate and discussion on issues of local importance.
This Fetac Level 3 course runs every Thursday in the centre from October 3rd. places available but an early start is advised. Progression to higher levels possible. Get to know how to do your planting, landscaping, veg and fruit growing, hanging baskets and containers.
A brilliant craft class every Thursday from 10 am to 12 pm. Women In Touch: currently doing needlework and dressmaking workshops Granard Art Club: Every Thursday. Men’s Shed: Woodwork classes every Wednesday. Cool Girls Club: Tuesdays 4.30 – 6pm and Boys Zone: Thursdays 4.30- 6 pm. All welcome.
We are delighted to announce that the County Choir will perform a recital in St. Mary’s Church, Granard in aid of the centre on November the 4th. The choir will be supported by local artists. Tickets €10 are available at the centre or from our volunteers. We are grateful to all involved in this project and ask for your support for a great event.
