Shave or Dye: On Friday May 24th the Haydogs of Rooskey & surrounding areas are hosting a major charity event in conjunction with the Today FM’s Shave or Dye to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society. 
The day time event is kicking off in ‘Elle-Ann’s Funky Fringes hair salon” Tarmonbarry where a number of well known locals heads are being dyed - also street entertainment & collections taking place from 2pm in Tarmonbarry.  The night time event is taking place in the Kon Tiki Bar Rooskey with music by Late Night Radio Band. Head & Tash Shaving, Waxing including a full body wax (with thanks to Lorraine from Ambience Beauty Salon Tarmonbarry) will be taking place along with a monster raffle with some great spot prizes including A voucher for the Casledargan Hotel, a signed Donegal GAA Jersey is up for auction and many more prizes not to be missed! Special guest who is travelling all the way from Craggy Island.. yes it’s the one and only Chris the Sheep!! Chris will be bringing along a few of his friends on the night - he is in great form since battling his depression and is looking forward to a great night. Local businesses have kindly sponsored a sheep each & we have a champion sheep shearer coming to shear ‘Mohawks’ & ‘Nohawks’ into the woolly creatures. Memorial  Event: Leitrim association of people with Disabilities  Memorial  Event in Memory of the late Howard Cusack and Sr. Emmanuel Farrelly, 5k walk and 2k Fun Run, Walk and Roll Sunday, May 26th at 12.30pm, setting off from LAPWD Centre, Station road, Mohill. The event will be launched by Alan Devine (Louie), Fair City and dramaclub.ie and Andy McGovern, author of “Against the Odds”. Entry fee €10, families €20 everybody of all ages welcome. The Resilience for Life Adult Programme: A email to hand from Michelle to let you all know of her forthcoming Psychologist course and it reads as follows; 6 Week Structured Programme delivered by a Registered Psychologist, aimed at developing an individual’s ability to positively respond to negative and challenging events in their life using a resilience toolbox – an array of strategies they can use to reduce stress and overcome the challenges they face. The Resilience for Life Adult Programme (Barrett, 2005) is a structured, preventative and protective programme based on sound cognitive behavioural therapy principles, and aimed at wide ranges of adults such as parents worried about themselves or their children or people facing new challenges in their careers or personal lives.  The programme focuses on the specific skills of thought challenging and thinking in positive ways, mindfulness, relaxation and attention training, identifying role models, building support networks, problem-solving strategies and conflict resolutions, all underpinned by keeping healthy in mind and body. Meeting: Midland Retired Secondary Teacher’s Assoc. final meeting before summer will take place in Longford Library on Thursday, May 23rd at 10:30am. Bornacoola gaa: Bornacoola travelled to Drumreilly on Saturday evening last for a Division 1 league game and here the home side proved much stronger coming out winners on a final scoreline of Bornacoola 1-8 Drumreilly 4-11. On Sunday our Division 2 side travelled to Drumkeeran and also on this occasion the home side took the spoils, final score Bornacoola 1-7 Drumkeeran 3-12. On Friday evening Bornacoola under 16s hosted neighbours Annaduff and put on a gallant performance winning on a scoreline of Bornacoola 2-15 Annaduff 1-10. This leaves them with three wins out of three, this evening they take on Kiltubrid and on Friday Glenfarne will provide the opposition. Best of luck lads. The first round of the senior championship takes place this weekend, Aughawillan is Bornacoola’s opposition, check fixtures for details.

Sympathy: We would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of the late Very Rev Fr Michael Killian who died at St Patrick’s Hospital Carrick on Shannon on Friday last. Fr Michael served in Cloonturk, Ennybeggs and Drumcong and he was laid to rest in Drumcong on Monday last. Requiescat in Peace.

Youth Club: Exciting times ahead for the members of the youth club. We have 4 entries in the Youth Factor taking place on Friday night next in Mohill your support on the night would b greatly appreciated. The Youth Factor is a talent show open to members of any youth club or youth cafe in the county of Leitrim so I’m sure our members will have some stiff competition on the night. It is organised by North Connaught Youth Services and our very own junior leaders who have put great effort into ensuring everyone from competitors to the audience will have a great night. The show will be in the Cannon Donohue Hall at half past seven and a great nights entertainment is guaranteed. 
We also took enrolment for our summer camp on last Thursday night but anyone interested in taking part in the summer camp taking place from the 26th to the 29th of June in The Hive can still enrol by contacting Ann-Marie on 0894258413 or any club leader. We plan to have a camping trip for out teen club in June also more details to follow.

Annaduff gaa: Annaduff were beaten by Melvin Gaels in Bundoran on Sunday by 0-14 to 1-7. This was a good performance against a superior Melvin Gaels. At the Donegal venue Melvin Gaels opened up a 0-0 to 0-4 lead before county minor Kenny Cox opened Annaduff’s account with a pointed free. Gaels got another point before Sean McNabola hit two in a row for the visitors. Melvin Gaels pointed with Kenny Cox getting the last score of the half with a well taken pointed free. Half time score was Melvin Gaels 0-6 to Annaduff’s 0-4. The second half started with a Gaels point followed by a Sean McNabola point. Gaels then hit a purple patch scoring five points in a row. In the 50th minute Niall Maxwell gave Annaduff some hope with a well taken goal. The teams scored two points each before the end with the Annaduff points coming from Mattie Cox and Niall Maxwell. In Division 3 Declan Shanley’s team put up a good performance in Bundoran losing by 4-14 to 2-10 to Melvin Gaels.

Cloding for kids: We are setting up a free coding for kids class in Ballinamore. Coding is the way you build websites, computer games and Apps. Coding is very useful for kids and adults alike. CoderDojo is the organisation worldwide who want to teach kids to code for free. All the information is here www.coderdojo.com. There are over 50 coderdojos in Ireland today.We need adults and kids to email us to see if we have enough interest. We intend to have one every Saturday for 1 or 2 hours.
