Recent Deaths: The death has taken place at Sligo General Hospital of Whiterock-born Mrs Nellie McGowan (nee O Beirne), Tawlaughtmore, Mohill. Her funeral took place on Saturday last following Mass of the Resurrection in St. Patrick’s Church, Mohill to the local cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her husband John, daughters Miriam and Finola, sons Seán Michael and Mel, her sister Mrs. Mae Cosgrave, brothers Willie and Pat and other relatives. The death has also taken place of Mrs. Molly McGovern Barden, wife of the late Terry Barden, Curraghtowey. Her remains were laid to rest in Drumlea cemetery following concelebrated Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Drumlea by Fr. Denis Murray P.P. Carrigallen/Drumreilly, Fr. Charles Heerey P.P. Oughteragh, and Fr. Tom McManus P.P. Corlough. Sympathy is tendered to her brothers Patsy and Gregory, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and a large circle of friends. Drumreilly v Bornacoola: Drumreilly strengthened their Division 1 position with a creditable performance against Bornacoola at Páirc Droim Oir Bhealaigh on last Saturday evening. Final score 4-11 to 1-8.

Recalling May 1992: Drumreilly beat Aughavas by 3-12 to 2-5 in Div.1. Other G.A.A. Results were as follows: Drumreilly U-16s v Fenagh, Cloone and Kiltubrid (victories), Drumreilly Minors v Carrigallen (defeat), Drumlea U-21s v Castlefore Gaels (defeat), Drumlea N.S. v Aughavas (3-7 to 1-7 defeat). Denis Clarke, Kildallon and Pauline Rourke, Derrygoan announced their engagement. Geraldine Mulligan, Marian Mulligan, Karl McCartin, Rachel Kennedy, and Mary McKeon were among the medal winners at the C.R.N. Feis in Boyle. The deaths took place of Mr. Johnny McCartin, Ardunsaghan, Mullaghboy- born Mrs Margaret Connolly nee McKiernan, Canada and former Mullaghmore resident Mrs. Mary Jane McCormack, Arva. R. I. P.

Schools Game: A well-balanced and skilful Fenagh N.S. team, which had looked the more likely winners for most of the game, had to pull out all the stops to survive a late surge by defiant Drumlea, which yielded a three goals salvo at Carrickmakeegan on last Thursday evening. The Drumlea team and scorers were Megan Lavin, Michelle McCabe, Ella Quinn, Emer McCabe, Oníosa Mimna, Sinéad Edwards (2-0) and Shauna Lavin (3-1). The Fenagh total was compiled by Evelyn Reynolds (0-1), Emma Gill (1-3) and Sarah Rowley (2-2) and Niamh Dwyer (1-1).

Table Quiz: A fundraising Table Quiz will be held on this Friday May 24th in Prior’s Bar, Ballinamore. The proceeds will be in aid of the McCartin S.D.’s trip to the U.K. Championships. Tables of four will be €40.
