Garadice Gaels Prevail: Subdued Garadice Gaels left it to the second half to strike positively for their 2-10 to 2-6 win over a lively Allen Gaels eleven in their Minor League encounter in Aughawillan Park on last Saturday afternoon.

Waist Removal: Drumreilly GAA club’s weight loss programme has ended. The total weight loss for the programme was twenty one stones and six pounds. Congratulations to everyone who completed the programme and the many participants, who have lost inches of their waistlines. Thank you to everyone who enrolled, became involved, and supported the programme. Thank you to all our speakers before Christmas and to Gene McManus for facilitating the boxercise class.

Athlete’s Success: Congratulations to Dylan Mimna, Drumshangore on winning the U-17 Walk at the Western Region Indoor Championships in Athlone. On the previous day the versatile athlete had played a big part in Garadice Gaels’ League draw against Melvin Gaels in Kinlough

Active Age Snippets: Chairperson Tess Gallogly presided at the weekly meeting of Drumreilly Active Age Group on last Wednesday night in Drumreilly Community Centre. Ideas for further winter classes and ideas for summer outings were discussed. Arrangements were made for the collection of the Intervention Cheese/Butter/Rice collection in Collooney on Wednesday of this week. It is of the utmost importance that all members are present o collect their allocations at this week’s meeting on Wednesday night.

Honour for Yeonette: Congratulations to Yeonette O Rourke, Drumshangore and St. Joseph’s G.F.C., whose input into the successes of her Club down the years has been recognized with her being awarded the Connacht 2012 Tesco Homegrown Connacht Club Person of the Year at a recent function in Croke Park.

Recalling March 1991: Artistes from eleven different parishes in Leitrim and took part in an All-Star Variety Concert was held in Drumreilly Community Centre. Feis in Tarmonbarry, Marian Mulligan, Mary McKeon, Elaine McGirl, Jennifer and Linda Reilly, Amanda Looby and Karl McCartin took home medals from the Feis in Drumlish. The following officers were elected at the A.G.M. of the Drumreilly Branch P.T.A.A.: Chairman: Seán Maxwell; Secretary: Catherine Reilly; Treasurers: Anna Mae Denneny and Rose Conefrey O Reilly; Spiritual Director: Fr. John Sexton C.C. St. Mary’s Youth Band took place in the St. Patrick’s Day parades in Longford and Mullingar. The Band won the Best Youth Band award in Longford. Kiltubrid beat Drumreilly in a Minor League game.
