CHURCH GATE COLLECTION: The annual senior citizens Christmas party will be held in Lus na Greine on Sunday December 9th next and the organizers will take up a Church gate collection at all masses in Granard next weekend Oct.26th and 27th. The voluntary management committee and staff of Lus na Greine provide a great party for the senior citizens of Granard, Abbylara and Mullinalaghta areas every year and they will appreciate whatever help you can give in defraying the cost of this. If anyone wishes to make a donation to this they can do so by calling into the centre at anytime.
TABLE QUIZ: Bunlahy area action project will hold a table quiz in Creegan’s on this Friday night October 26th starting at 8-30pm with tables of four costing 40 euro or ten euro per person. A great night is guaranteed so come along and put your brain to the test and support this group who are doing great work for the local community. HALLOWEEN PARTY: The parents association of St.Guasacht’s national school in Bunlahy are holding a Halloween party in Creegan’s on Saturday 27th October starting at 3pm and continuing until 5pm with prizes for the best fancy dress. This promises to be a great evening’s fun so come along and enjoy.

GIVE BLOOD: The opportunity to give blood will be available on Wednesday October 31st and Thursday November 1st from 5-00pm to 8-30pm in St.Brigid’s Community Centre, Loch Gowna. Help ensure essential blood supplies are always available by giving blood regularly.
SYMPATHy: We offer sincere sympathy to Mrs.Bridie Gillagan, Abbylara and family on the death of her brother Brendan Reilly, late of Rathcor, Granard. Brendan had been in failing health for the past number of years and he died peacefully in St.Joseph’s Longford on Thursday last. Along with his brother the late Phil, Brendan worked the family farm in Rathcor and they were known for their great knowledge of farming and breeding top quality cattle and were prize winners at many shows throughout the midlands. Brendan’s remains were removed from the Manor chapel on Friday last to St. Mary’s in Granard and he was laid to rest in Granardkille cemetery following Mass on Saturday morning. May he rest in peace.
GRANARD COUNTRY MARKET: Our Friday country market continues in the Market house from 8-30am to 11-00am with a free raffle this Friday for Halloween. A large supply of bracks ,buns and cakes and the usual craft items will be on display so make sure you call in and that you are included in the draw. Spooky Saturday Market Lus na Gréine Saturday 27th October 11am-1pm. Colouring competition, face painting,pumpkin carving demonstration. Colouring sheets available from Postoffie Library and Lus na Gréine. Entries to be received at Lus na Gréine before 11.30am on morning of competition.
WELL DONE: Congratulations and well done to Emmett Og football club on winning the county final replay on Sunday evening last and we hope thecelebrations all go well.No doubt some Killoe natives in this area are on a high and the knitting was not in vain so well done to all involved.
