RURAL TRANSPORT (CO LONGFORD): Please note that all rural transport Friday services throughout the county will run on Thursday 5th April with the same collection and departure times. All age groups are welcome to travel. Passengers who have a service in their area to use it or encourage others to do so. If you don’t use - you lose. FISHING COMPETITION RESULTS: Results of open boat pike competition that took place on Sunday 18 March on Derries lake 1st David Smith Denn; 2nd Pat Sheenan Dun a Ri; 3rd William Simpson Gowna; 4th John Boyle north Longford. 10 boats participated.

TABLE QUIZ: Table quiz in aid of Cherven Children Orphanage Belarus and on behalf of Sheree Gaffney Auhanavains Loch Gowna who has volunteered to travel to Belarus and work as a carer in the Cherven Orphanage for 10 days. Funds raised will buy medication, clothes and toys for the children which Sheree will take to the orphanage. This quiz takes place this Friday night 30th March in the Pikers Lodge Hotel at 8.30pm. REMEMBRANCE SHOW: Remembrance show in honour of the late Eddie Fitzsimons Dingins in the Pikers Lodge Hotel Loch Gowna on Monday night 2nd April. Performing on the night Mick Flavin Sean Corrigan Frank Nelson Kevin Logue and many more. Show starts 9pm sharp. Admission optional proceeds to wheelchair association & St Christophers Hospice Cavan.

BLOOD DONORS CLINIC SUCCESS: The Irish Blood Transfusion Service wish to thank the 243 donors who attended the recently held clinic in St Brigids community Centre Loch Gowna.
