EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS: We hope to run a bus to the Eucharistic Congress on Tuesday 12th June 2012 in the RDS in conjunction with our cluster area. The book has been booked by Mohill parish pastoral council. If anyone wishes to reserve a place on the bus,please contact Fr Sam. Cost for the day will be 3 euro. AUGHAVAS /CLOONE ACTIVE AGE: Meeting of members in Cloone Com Centre on Thursday 29th March at 8.30pm to discuss future outings. This meeting is being held in conjunction with the distribution of intervention cheese and all members are requested to attend.
LEIITRIM IFA: Public meeting Monday 26th March at 8.30pm in the Bush Hotel Carrick on Shannon.Guest speaker is Mr John Bryan IFA president. All farm famlies are welcome.
AUGHAVAS PTAA: The agm in the parish room after the evening Mass on Friday 30th March. New members are invited to attend. The three commitments for membership are 1 to abstain from all alcoholic drink, 2 to recite the offering twice daily,3 to wear the emblem publicly. Among the membership sections are Young Pioneers (12 years upward) who in addition to abstaining from alcohol promise to abstain from illicit drugs for life.
ENROLMENT FORMS: Parents of pupils wishing to enroll in Fatima NS Cloone in September 2012 can collect enrolment forms at present from the school or from the playschool in the community centre. FIRST CONFESSIONS: for the children of Aughavas and Cloone parishes will take place in St Josephs Church Aughavas on next Thursday 29th March at 7.30pm.
RECENT RETIREMENTS: Congratulations and best wishes to Mr Damian Brennan and Mrs Moira Clancy who have retired recently from Cloone NS after over 30 years service each to the education of Cloone children. Their retirements were marked on February 29th by the present pupils with a beautiful mass,presentation and social in the community centre on the teachers last day. It was a fitting and emotional farewell to two very dedicated and much-loved teachers.
WELCOME & BEST WISHES: The parish of Cloone welcomes Ms Tara McCabe Corduff and Ms Ciara Quinn Drumhalla to the teaching staff of Fatima NS Cloone to replace Mr Brennan & Mrs Clancy. We wish them well. Best wishes also to Mrs Teresa Moran Aughavas who takes up the post of principal of the school and to Mrs Amu Tiernan new resource teacher.
