Final Tally: The proceeds from the recent St. Christopher’s fund-raiser, in the Rustic Inn, have totalled €7,922.40. Legan Branch of St. Christopher’s wishes to reiterate it’s gratitude to everybody who contributed to this fine achievement. The local committee was formed in 2010, to create awareness and raise funds for St. Christopher’s Services Longford which provides a comprehensive, efficient and innovative service to people with intellectual difficulties. Their battle for funding is never ending which make efforts like this very welcome.
Room for Improvement: Architect Dermot Bannon and his team from RTE show “Room for Improvement” have finished the revamping of the home of Elaine Mitchell, Legan and the final round of filming took place recently. We can look forward to seeing all involved on the show’s airing in September with many locals interviewed on the unveiling of the finished product. An open house evening took place for the public to view the enhancement and redesign of the house and the completed job can be described as nothing less than magnificent. The showcasing of it all on RTE television is now very much eagerly anticipated and it will be sad to see the departure of television cameras and Dermot Bannon and his team who spent so much time in this locality.
