ARDAGH PLAYGROUND: Many thanks to everyone in the community who have been supporting Ardagh Children’s Playground in keeping it neat and tidy and maintaining the playground as a valuable facility for the Village. It has been noted that the gravel that is in place around the perimeter of the playground needs to be replaced, as the small stones are being carried into the Community Centre and additionally are causing unnecessary wear and tear on the “wet-pour” ground covering of the playground itself. As the Local Authority has no further funding available for this project, the community has been asked to raise 2,000 euro to cover the cost of the materials (purchase paving stones) and undertake minor repairs to the stone wall surrounding the playground. To this end, the Ardagh Children’s Playground Committee is inviting members of the community and parents of children who use the playground to please join us at “Ardagh Tidy Towns Bingo” at the Community Centre on Tuesday, the 6th of September at 9pm to play a game of Bingo and purchase a Raffle Line to raise the required funds to cover the materials costs for the playground works. Lines will be sold at a cost of €2 per line and 3 lines for €5 euro; all proceeds from the Raffle Lines will go towards the cost of the materials for the playground renovation. All are welcome, and as Tidy Towns Bingo is such an enjoyable night, why not invite a friend and enjoy an evening out supporting this well used community amenity on Tuesday the 6th of September? A great time is promised, as well as being in with a chance for a Tidy Towns BINGO win! The Lines for Ardagh Playground project is sponsored by Tesco Community Champion Paul Connell and supported by Ardagh Tidy Towns. Any and all support is sincerely appreciated. For more information on the Ardagh Playground Building Works Project, please contact Michael Hayden or Cathy Lynch.
