County Longford lady Helen Feeney is going for gold in a Golden Pages nationwide competition and she needs your help! A native of Rathcline, Lanesboro, Helen is on a mission to be chosen as the Golden Pages Golden Wedding Planner, a highly coveted title that will see the winner create a themed wedding day for couple Grainne Howley (Kilkenny) and Matthew Donnellan (Dublin).
Helen needs Facebook votes in order to make it to the second and final round, where she will be in the running for a €30,000 bar of gold with her theme “Ferero Rocher: Luxury and Decadence with a little Nutty Side”.
“Simply put, I decided to enter this competition because I thought it would be a good distraction from the constant economic doom and gloom, not to mention a fun and romantic project to get involved in. I also liked the idea of supporting indigenous Irish suppliers – including those in the Midlands and the West of Ireland– as part of the planning process for my wedding day.
“There is a more serious side to my entry as I’ve committed to donating a sum of money to Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland if I win. The reason I have chosen this charity is because one of the daughters of the wedding couple has Spina Bifida and personally speaking, I think it is one of the lesser known Irish charities doing amazing work for its members, ” said Helen.
Helen is currently in third place and is looking for your support to boost her votes. People should visit http://challenge.goldenpages.ie, go to the Planners section and then follow the link to Helen’s wedding plan, where they can click “Like” and “Share” through their own or a friend’s Facebook page.
