RETIREMENT PARTY: The board of management and the Parents Association of Saint Dominics School Kenagh invite you to join us in wishing Mrs Philomena Murphy NT a very happy retirement after teaching for 38 years. Philomena arrived in Saint Dominics National School in January 1974 where she has spent her career teaching third and fourth class children. To mark Philomena’s retirement a celebratory Mass will be held at 7pm on June 29th in Saint Dominics Church Kenagh and the celebration will continue from here to Saint Dominics Community Centre after the Mass. We would hope that all past and present pupils friends and family will join us to celebrate this happy occasion and indeed anyone who would like to wish Philomena well in her retirement. AGM: The annual general meeting of Abbeyderg Cemetery Committee takes place on Friday night June 24th at 8pm in Kearneys Carraghmore. STICKY FINGERS: Congratulations to all the children of Sticky Fingers who graduated on Fri last. We wish them well as hey start their primary education in Sept. Thanks to Sue, Dolores and Angela who prepared the children for the transition.
HARVEST FESTIVAL: There will be a meeting of he Longford Harvest festival committee in The El Paso Kenagh on this Friday night June 24th at 9.30pm. All members please attend. The festival will take place in Rathcline on Sunday August 28th weather permitting. A raffle to supplement funds will be arranged from the meeting next Friday.

RCAG: Kenagh branch of RCAG will be hosting the Abbeyshrule canal group at Mosstown Harbour on Sunday July 3rd. The mid Summer festival will begin a rally in Abbeyshrule on Saturday June 25th. The flotilla will move to Brannigan harbour on Sunday June 26th for a family fun day. It will then move to Foigha for festivities on Saturday July 2nd and on to Kenagh (Mosstown) on Sunday July 3rd for more fun and finally on to Killashee for fun and games on Saturday July 9th. TWENTY FIVE: Winners in Saint Dominics Centre last Thursday night were Barry and Tom eleven games they win 60 euro, Mary and Tommy Kieran and Larry 9 games they share 60 euro.
