THANKS: The Irish Cancer Society says thank you to all who contributed to their Church Gate Collection which raised €300.

Rosary d: The Rosary will be recited every Friday evening in St. Anne’s Church, Scramogue at 7pm. Parishoners are asked to participate.

Buttercups: Buttercups Playschool is now taking enrolments for September 2011 for children from 10 months to 2yrs.Places are also available for the free ECCE Scheme.For further information contact Maria at 087-6681958.

Cul Camp: VHI Cul Camp takes place in Tarmonbarry from the 18th to 22nd July for boys and girls between the ages of 6yrs and 13 yrs of age.The cost is 60e per child.For further details contact Peter Carney at 086-8534709 or any member of St.Barry’s minor board.

Community CentrE: The new centre is open every Tuesday and Thursday 11 am to 2pm.All are welcome to call. There is always something interesting happening in the Centre each Tuesday and Thursdays.

Pig on the spit: Kilglass Gaels will be roasting a pig on Sunday 26th at the club grounds,There will be dancing with Sean nos ar an tSionnan,Gay Cassidy dancers,live music with Hammer and Tongs.Adm just €5.

Collection: A Church Gate Collection in aid of Lourdes Invalid Fund will take place next weekend Saturday and Sunday 25th and 26th June. Please support as generously as you can.

First Communicants: We congratulate our First Communicants who celebrated the occasion in Sacred Heart Church Whitehall,Vandis Akukwe, Edel Beirne, Diarmid Cox, Adam Cox, Elizabeth O’Boyle, Katie Mulvihill, Bryan Rogers, Jack Keenan, Kellie Ann Devlin, Jack Keenan, Lana Fallon, Harry Deveney, Adam Gaffney and Daragh Humpston.

Best of Luck: Best of luck to Emmet Conroy,David Cox and Pauric Halpin who will all be members of the St.Dominic’s hurling panel representing Roscommon in the All Ireland Feile na nGael hurling festival to be held in Galway shortly.

New Post box: A new post box has been erected at the entrance to Tarmon Harbour Housing estate. The old box has now been closed but will not be removed from the village.

First Communion: We congratulate the following who made their First Communion on Sunday 5th June in St Anne’s Church, Scramogue. Ciaran McCormack, Caolan Pringle, Aaron Feeney, Eugene Casey, Gavin O’Reilly, Niall Fisher, Chloe Flanagan, Kellie Rogers, Roisin Burke, Katie Birch, Eimhin Leavy and Rian Murphy.

Community Games: Well done to all the kids who represented Tarmonbarry /Scramouge in the Roscommon County Athletic finals over the weekend. All children put in fine performances over the week end ,hard luck to those who just missed out on medals in their finals Aoife McLoughlin who came fourth in u 12 girls 600 m final and John McLoughlin who made it to the u 10 200m boys final ,we had one medal winner on the day ,Rosie Trautt taking silver for the under 10 Girls 60m hurdles she ran three brilliant races to finally take silver .Well done Rosie we are all delighted for you well deserved.Also thank you to all the parents for coming out and cheering them on .The kids had a great day look forward to doing it all again next year.
