Athletics: Three local children figured among the winners at the Ballinamore Open Sports on Bank Holiday weekend. They were Hughie Maguire, son of Michael and Joan Maguire, Carrickmakeegan and Dylan and Oníosa Mimna, son and daughter of Tomás and Rosie Mimna, Drumshangore. Hughie took silver in the U-11 60 metres race. Oníosa took first place in the Ball Throw competition and collected bronze in the U-12 Walk. In U-15 competition Dylan was first in the Walk, 2nd in both the 80m and 100m races and 3rd in the Long Jump. Cómhgháirdeas do na buaiteóirí.

Memorial Mass: A Memorial Mass for the late Canon Micheál Kelly, a generous helper in recent years in St. Mary’s Drumlea, will be celebrated on next Saturday evening June 25th.

Defeat: In a game that they might have won, Drumreilly were narrowly defeated on a score-line of 2-7 to 2-6 by St. Mary’s in Ck on Shannon on last Friday evening. The scores were level at the interval, but in the second half Drumreilly squandered several scoring chances. The lineout was as follows: Mick McGirl, Brian Mitchell, Seán Fee, Anthony Holahan, Graeme Taylor, John McKeon, Paddy O Connell, Ollie Maguire, Kevin Holahan, Brian Fee, Nigel Maguire, John Fee, Ronan McCartin, James Holahan and Adrian McGirl. Subs used: Declan Maxwell, Damon Maguire and Frank Holahan. The next game will be on next Saturday evening against Allen Gaels in Drumshanbo.

Collection: A Eucharistic Congress collection will be taken up following Holy Communion at next Saturday’s Mass in St. Mary’s, Drumlea. Please give generously.

Playgroup: Parents interested in enrolment of their children in Drumreilly Playgroup in September are invited to an Open Day on this Wednesday June 22nd between 9.30 a.m. and 1.00 p.m.

Active Age: The weekly meeting of Drumreilly Active Age Group was held on Wednesday last. Arrangements were made to attend the Gortletteragh Social and to travel to Lustybeg. There will not be a meeting on this Wednesday night.

Induction Day: Their parents and pupils who intend to start in St. Mary’s N.S., Drumlea in September are invited to an induction session on this Wednesday June 22nd between 1.00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m.

Cemetery Sunday: The burial plots in Drumlea and Ardunsaghan cemeteries will be blessed on Sunday July 17th following Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Drumlea.

Water Scheme AGM: All members of Corrawallen Group Water Scheme Co-0perative Society Ltd. are reminded that the Group Committee’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday June 23rd in Drumreilly Community Centre at 8.00
