The Farm Family Development Worker, with Longford Community Resources Ltd. is organising a series of information clinics to assist low income smallholders with queries regarding the 2011 Single Farm Payment Scheme are scheduled to be held in Granard on: Wednesday 13 April from 2:30-4:30pm;Wednesday 4May from 2:30pm to 4:30pm; and Wednesday 11 May 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Route 111 runs from Granard to Athboy for connection to Trim and Dublin at 8.30am, 12.30pm, 3.30pm and 6.30pm from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays at 9.55am, 1.55pm and 6.30pm. Sundays at 6.00pm . It runs via Abbeylara Coole Castlepollard and Delvin. Times from Granard to Ballinagh and Cavan are: 10.40am 2.30pm 5.30pm and 8.30pm Mondays to Fridays. On Saturdays at 12.noon 4.00pm and 8.50pm. Sundays at 2.50pm. All services stop to pick-up and set-down at any safe point en route.
The Moatsiders Active Age Group will hold their next meeting on 14 April at 2.30pm. The group will meet in St. Mary’s Church for a Lenten Reflection Service with Sr. Maeve and return to Rath Mhuire Resource Centre afterwards for refreshments. New members are always very welcome. The next meeting of Granard Men’s social Club will take place on Thursday 14 April. The group are travelling to Ulster Folk Museum Omagh. Please meet at the Centre at 9.30am. VINTAGE AND STATIC SHOW
On Easter Sunday April 24th next Killeen / Bunlahy Community Group will host their Vintage and Static show on the lands of John Joe and Anne Marie Reilly in Kilcourcey Edgeworthstown. This promises to be a great day out for all the family with a big entry of vintage machinery along with a number of trading stalls and different fun competitions. The committee are looking forward to a big turnout of patrons. An added advantage to this years show is that there will be parking on the site so make sure you keep Easter Sunday free and come along and enjoy a great day out.
