Open Evening

Open Evening and Enrolment - Ardscoil Phadraig, Granard. Parents of sixth class students are invited to attend our Open Evening on Thursday 15th October 2015 from 7-9pm. Pupils and parents can view the excellent school facilities, meet students and staff and see the achievements, work and the success of our students first hand. Parents/guardians are invited to enrol their children in the school on the night.

Benefit Dance

A Benefit night for the family of the late Sean Mulligan, Ballinamuck will take place in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva on Monday 16th November 2015. Music on the night by Night Fever, Mick Flavin, Noel Cassidy, Jimmy Hussey, Busy Fingers Tickets cost €10 each -the committee will be out selling over the next few weeks and your support will be very much appreciated.Tickets will also be on sale in Gala Ballinamuck and Post Office in Drumlish.

Social Dance Classes

Classes resume on Wednesday, October 14th at 8pm in Porter House under new tutelage. we welcome back our existing members and an extended warm welcome to new members. “shine up those shoes” take on the slow waltz, fox trot etc.

Gary Brady you are an Ironman

Congratulations to Gary Brady, Drumlish on completing the Iron Man Challenge in Barcelona at the weekend.

Public Lecture

Bishop William O’Higgins who was born in Barraghbeg and who laid the foundation stone for that ‘glorious undertaking’ -St. Mel’s Cathedral in the 1840s -will take place on the 15th October in Drumlish Community Centre at8pm - part of the Longford Historical Society series of Autumn Lectures.

Tidy Towns

Another solid performance by DTT with an increase of 6 marks to 293- it didn’t quite reflect the projects and major works of transformation that got done this summer but the building blocks are in place for 2016. Judging took place on July 20th a whole month later than previous years and apparently is going to be the norm for future years. The annual general meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 22nd October at 7.30pm.

Kiltycreevagh School Re-Union

Kiltycreevagh N.S. will hold a weekend celebration next year on the 12th, 13th, and 14th August 2016. A book is been compiled to commemorate this occasion. We are seeking old Photos and stories that people wish to share and have published in this Book. Photos and stories can be scanned and emailed to Kittycreev@gmail.com. Alternatively these can be given to a Committee member. (email for details on Committee members). Please put your name on the back of photos, so they can be returned after they have been scanned.

Yoga Breath Stretch and Relax

5 Yoga course starting Thursday 8th October 7.30 p.m. in the ‘98 Hall Ballinamuck. Wear comfortable clothing. Bring a mat and Bottle of water. During this course we will include 1 night of Chair Yoga. Chair Yoga is a Stretching and Relaxation exercise for those who work in the Office, School, College or in the Home. October Mudfest

Sean Connolly’s GAA Club in Ballinalee are running a mud fest to raise funds for the club. The race is a 6km run across country and will include obstacles along the way. There is a prize for the fastest men’s and women’s team of €1000 each and a prize of €500 for the fastest individual male and individual female. It will take place on Saturday 31st October. We remember in our prayers Bridie Lenahan, (nee) McGovern, 6 Crois Bothar, Drumlish, Co. Longford and formerly Cattan, Mohill, Co. Leitrim who died last week. To her sons Steven and Mel, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends, we offer our deepest sympathies.
