Open Evening and Enrolment - Ardscoil Phadraig, Granard Parents of sixth class students are invited to attend our Open Evening on Thursday 15 October 2015 from 7-9pm. Pupils and parents can view the excellent school facilities, meet students and staff and see the achievements, work and the success of our students first hand. Parents/guardians are invited to enrol their children in the school on the night.
Volunteers wanted for the ‘Leisure Buddies Project’, St. Christopher’s. We are continuously recruiting for volunteers from around the county to give up their time once a month to befriend someone who attends St Christopher’s and to meet up with them at a time that suits them both to attend a social activity of their choice. e.g. going to the cinema; to the pub; a concert or just for a cup of tea and a chat. New volunteers are inducted and fully supported by staff. Solemn Novena to Our Lady
The annual Novena commences on Wednesday 28 October at 7.30pm in St. Mary’s Church Granard and continues for 9 Wednesday nights. Everyone is invited and encouraged to take part.
Bingo continues each Wednesday night at the Community Centre Granard commencing at 8.45pm. Jackpot now stands at €20,000 in 42 calls or less. The second Jackpot is €2,800. Your continued support is appreciated. Proceeds go to Abbeylara and St. Mary’s G.A.A. Clubs.

Siopa Lus na Greine
Our Siopa is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10am – 5pm. Thank you for your continued support. We welcome your cast offs, bric –a – brac etc. these can be dropped into An Siopa. All proceeds from An Siopa go directly to the Centre to fund projects in the Community.
Opening hours Tuesday to Saturday 10am-5pm. Student Bursary forms now available at counter. Next members draw will be in December when there will be a lot of cash prizes on offer. To be in with a chance to enter in this draw members need to ensure accounts are up to date with a minimum of €50 in savings. The John Dungan Granard Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann held their annual general meeting on 17 September. The following officers were elected: Chairperson Declan Donohoe; Vice Chairperson Helen Reilly; Secretary Brid Campbell; Treasurer Kate McKenna; Auditors Grainne Donohoe/Rose Reynolds. PROs Nessa McKenna/Maura Sheridan. Irish Language Officer Elaine Reilly. Youth Officer Aisling Reynolds. The next meeting will be held on 12 October at 8.30pm in the Granard Area Action Group Office, Mai Street Granard. The branch are hosting the County Fleadh in May 2016 and are organising a concert on 6th May, so anyone interested in helping our please join us for our next meeting.
The St. Vincent de Paul Shop Main Street Granard opens each Monday morning from 10.00am to 1.00pm. Every Friday 10.00am to 5.00pm and Saturday from 11.00am to 5.00pm as well as the first Tuesday of each month. Come along and bag a bargain while supporting a very worthy local cause.

Are currently involved in a wonderful community project and would love anyone interested to join them. Raising awareness of poverty has brought the group to work with clay and paint in an expressive way. They will have a launch day in October. So come along and bring your own unique wisdom to the group on Wednesdays from 10am to 12 pm at Lus na Greine FRC Main Street Granard.
