Congratulations to Sr. Roberta Kilbride who celebrates the Golden Jubilee of her profession on Saturday, 1st August at Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Granard at 8.30pm. followed by refreshments in the Community Centre Barrack Street. Sr. Roberta has spent the past 50 years working in Pakistan and we wish her many more happy years.
Cemetery Sunday takes place in Granardkille old cemetery on Sunday, 2nd August when Mass will be celebrated at 11.30am. It is always a very special occasion when we remember out dead. Please help to have cemetery looking well. There are many people buried in Granardkille who have no family members left to care for their graves so it would be nice if people could lend a helping hand to tidy and maintain these plots.
The Irish Wheelchair Association Church Gate Collection will take place on Saturday and Sunday next 1st and 2nd August. With your support IWA can continue to maintain vital services to people with disabilities in Co Longford.

Clonfin Commemoration Committee are holding a 5km walk/run on Sunday 2 August next starting at McElvaney’s of Coolarty at 6pm.Registration will be from 5pm and when the walk is complete there will be a BBQ in McElvaney’s followed by an evening of Irish music song and dance. Registration is €10 per adult and €5 for children and all proceeds will go towards the Clonfin project which is ongoing at the present time. The committee will greatly appreciate your support.

The association are holding their annual ploughing and field day on Sunday 30 August on the lands of the Bleakley Family Smear Aughnacliffe.

Our Siopa is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10am – 5pm. Thank you for your continued support. We welcome your cast offs, bric –a – brac etc. these can be dropped into the Centre or to An Siopa. All proceeds from An Siopa go directly to the Centre to fund projects in the Community.

Ballymore Ladies GFA
Congratulations to Pauric and Edel (Biggins) Kiernan, Ballinacross, Granard on the birth of their first baby - Conor. We wish them every blessing for the future.
The death of Maura McGowan, nee Burke, Grange, Ballynacargy and late of Killeen, Granard occurred peacefully on 24 July at Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar. Removal took place to Ballynacargy Church on Sunday evening. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday followed by burial in Sonna Cemetery. May she rest in peace. Sympathy is extended to her husband Pat, sons Kevin and Brian, daughter Annmarie, her grandchildren, daughters-in law and son-in-law and extended family circle.
Sympathy is extended to Maura McBrien and family, Londis Supermarket, Granard on the death of her brother, Brendan Madden, Ballymacelligiot, Tralee, Co. Kerry who died recently. May he rest in peace.
