On Monday night May 25th next The Park House Hotel in Edgeworthstown will celebrate it’s 29th anniversary with a host of Ireland’s top sports and music stars. Among them will be Mick Flavin, Jimmy Buckley, Philomena Begley, Jimmy Magee, Chuck and June, Pat Jennings and many more. Unfortunately, the much loved and very popular Derek Davis will be sorely missed on the night but no doubt he’l be there in spirit. All proceeds from the night will go to charity and your support will be greatly appreciated.
On Sunday May 31st next a poker classic will be held in the Breffni Arms Hotel in Arva starting at 6-00pm. Buy in cost 30 euro. This Classic is organised by friends of the late Martin Cadden and all proceeds go to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust. All support will be greatly appreciated.
Granard Garden Club will hold their next monthly meeting on Monday night next, 25th May at 8.00pm in Lus na Greine and the topic on the night is container planting. Deposits will also be taken on the night for our summer outing. This trip is to Johnstown Garden Centre in Naas and Newbridge Silverware on Tuesday, 23rd of June. The market continues every Friday morning in the Motte Project Building, opposite Kearney’s garage, from 8.30am to 1.00pm. Hanging baskets and planted containers are now in stock as well as the usual supply of bread, cakes, eggs, cards, crafts, firewood etc.
Glen Brady Cycle
The 5th annual Glenn Brady Cycle, from Longford to Croagh Patrick will take place on Sunday, May 31st. We hope everyone can join with us again this year for a most enjoyable day out. Registration is now open, check it on glennbradycycle.com, the registration fee is the same as last year at €40. We look forward to seeing you all again.
