Medal Presentation in Rynn Gortletteragh GAA Club are holding a Buffet Dance in Lough Rynn Castle Hotel on this Friday night, March 13th for the presentation of medals to the their junior team that won the Division 3 League title last year. In what promises to be a great night’s entertainment, there will be a buffet meal followed by music from the Looney Hoppers. Tickets are €20 each and can be purchased from any of the club executive or can be bought on the door on the night.

Birth Congratulations to Bernice and Gary McCloskey, Cloonmorris on the birth last week of their son, Oisín. We wish the family health and happiness and God’s blessing in their lives.

Choir Practise Choir practise in preparation for Confirmation will be held in Gortletteragh church on Saturday evening, March 14th at 7 o’clock and on Friday evening March 20th at 8 o’clock.

Self Help Africa collection Thanks to all who contributed to the above collection taken up at all Church gates. The total collected was €335.

First Confession First Confession is on Thursday night March 12th in Gortletteragh church.

Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated by Bishop Francis Duffy in St. Mary’s Church, Gortletteragh at the 11.30 mass on Sunday, March 22nd.

Finance Committee There will be a meeting of the Parish Finance committee on Monday, March 23rd in the parochial house at 9pm.

Football Fare Leitrim upped their performance in Tullamore on Sunday last and played out an entertaining draw with Offally in the national league. Well done to Cathal, Niall and their team-mates. On the club scene, Gortletteragh, with home advantage beat near neighbours, Bornacoola in the Shield.

O Halleluiah! This fabulous Leonard Coen piece ‘Halleluiah’ will be performed by the equally fabulous soprano Pearl Kielty at the Mohill based ‘Sweet Spirit Gospel & Country Choir’s concert under the direction of Mohill native Tish Dunleavy. Tish on electric piano will be joined by Padraig Donohue of ‘Evening Star’ fame on drums and Sean Mahon (Rodeo Man) on guitar and banjo. Some new pieces along with the old favourites will be performed on the night. Beneficiaries are: ‘Arus Carolan Patient Comfort Fund’, St. Manachan’s Outreach Special Class and ‘Goal’ c/o Noel Mahon Bornacoola. The show will take place in the Hunt Hall, Castle Street, Mohill (opposite Library) on Sunday evening 22nd March 2015 at 8pm. Admission is €10 and includes a hot toddy!
