The chairman and committee of Streete Parish Park Bingo were delighted to support the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust by donating the proceeds of last Monday’s bingo to the trust, the aims of which are to help alleviate the financial hardships of bereaved families repatriating their loved one or ones who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland. Sincere thanks to all who supported last Monday night’s bingo. Should anyone who was not present on the night wish to support this very worthy cause donations may be given to or sent to John White, Chairman Streete Parish Park, Kilmore, Streete or to any committee member.

Streete Parish Park members had their first meeting of 2015 to discuss the forthcoming All Ireland Vintage Weekend on 11th & 12th of July. There was lots of enthusiasm at the meeting which was well attended. Chairman, John white welcomed all and commenced with a minutes silence in memory of all deceased members and friends of Streete Parish Park Vintage. Many aspects and possibilities were discussed in detail. We welcome any constructive ideas. The next meeting will be on Thursday, 26th April, so please keep an eye on these notes in the weeks to come.
At the Streete Parish Park meeting it was agreed to create a float to enter in some of the St. Patrick’s Day parades on the 17th. Any offers of interest to include on the float most welcome. Anyone wishing to have a trade stall on Vintage Day must book in advance with John White or Jimmy Brady and must produce a copy of suitable insurance.
Anyone wishing to avail of the special insurance with FBD must be a member of I.V.S. club. To join Streete Parish Park vintage the membership cost for the Year is €25 and must be sent to Brian Nerney, Correally, Lismacaffrey. FBD will only discuss Vintage Insurance with club members.
It is hoped to produce a Souvenir Programme for this year’s All Ireland Vintage and this idea can be supported by taking an advertisement in the programme. The cost will be - €50 for a full page or €25 for a half page. If you are prepared to support us with an ad please contact Brian 086 2596656, firstname.lastname@example.org, John Parker, Pat Duffy, John White or any member. As it is the All Ireland event it would nice to be included and the cost is kept as low as possible.
All members are asked to note that the club’s 37th AGM will be held on Friday, 20th March next in the Crossroads Inn, Lisryan at 8.45pm, and as usual the club annual mass will be held beforehand in St Mary’s Church, Boherquill at 8pm. All members will receive a copy of the 2014/15 annual report within the next few days. The club Spring Clay Shooting League continues each Thursday evening at 7pm, with the finals on the 26th March where the will be cash prizes in all classes, with the overall High Gun winner receiving a cash prize and the Campbell Bros Cup. The Ramblers were forced to cancel their walk in Ballymahon on Sunday, March 1st due to heavy snow. On Sunday, March 15th the Ramblers will visit Ballynacargy. Cars will leave Boherquill at 1.30pm and meet at the Church Hall in Ballynacargy at 2pm. The Clubs Assistant Secretary, Frank Higgins has checked the RSA Rules of the road in relation to pedestrians. It states that if there is a footpath it should always be used but if there is no footpath then pedestrians should walk on the right hand side of the road, facing oncoming traffic and keeping close to the side of the road. Pedestrians should never walk more than two abreast and on narrow roads and if there is heavy traffic, they should walk in single file. Reflective clothing is also advised plus a torch at night on country roads. Those who are interested in the weekend away in Nenagh from March 20th to March 22nd should contact Club Chairperson Patricia Bruton at 087 9812801 immediately.
