Saturday 25th October - Shane Brennan U-12 Tournament – Table Quiz in Casey’s Pub at 9pm on Saturday, 25th October - Table of four €40. Prizes for the winners and raffle on the night. Sunday, 26th October - Parade by Kids/players/members from the GAA Complex on Sunday morning to the Church, where Mass will be celebrated at 11am celebrating the 125 years and remembering the deceased members of the Club. Underage matches and activities on Sunday afternoon - Ladies match – hurling - senior 7-a-side competition - Unveiling of plaque - Dinner and dance – Music by Aftermath

Warmer Homes Scheme
Longford Warmer Homes provides free attic insulation, cavity wall insulation and energy advice to elderly and disadvantaged home owners throughout the county that meet certain criteria. Longford Warmer Homes also carries out work for the elderly as part of the Care & Repair Scheme. Shorin Ryu Karate
We have a very exciting training day coming up on Saturday, 25th October in Dublin. Students of all ages and rank are welcome to attend the event. Further details are available from Ann. Pre Christmas Craft Fair
A pre Christmas craft fair will be held in the GAA complex Newtownforbes on Sunday 23rd November from 11-4pm in aid of Pieta House. There is a wide variety of crafters attending and a tremendous day is expected. A selection of goods available on the day include- wood products, preserves, knitting, crochet, patchwork, painting, jewellery, books, clothing, tupperware. forever living products as well as cake stands, cards & floral arrangements to name but a few! There will also be a raffle for a hamper as well as a big selection of other prizes on the day. The next Reparation and Adoration vigil to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary is in the Chapel of Our Lady’s Manor, Edgeworthstown, on the first Friday, the 7th of November, commencing at 10pm with the Holy Rosary and Confession followed by Mass in reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. There are nine offices of prayer recited throughout the night with time for quiet prayer. The vigil concludes after Benediction and the 6am mass. This is a wonderful opportunity to pray especially for the holy souls, and to spend the night in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. All are welcome. Divine Mercy prayer meeting in St Mary’s parish church, Newtownforbes every Monday at 3pm. Special prayers include the Chaplet and Novena of the Divine Mercy, prayer of Concentration to the Divine Mercy and St Faustina’s Station of the Cross. All are welcome and bring a friend.
A parish Liturgy Group meeting will be held in the Parochial House on Thursday 23rd October at 8.30pm.

Parent & Toddler group
The Parent and Toddler Group Initiative is a nationally available fund from POBAL and Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA). Parent and Toddler groups (P&T’s) are organised on a not for profit basis and encourage parent participation in childhood development and support, a kind of peer support. Funding is available for Equipment, Training, Materials for Activities, and Minor Refurbishments. CHILDMINDERS GRANTS The new Child-minder Grant criteria apply if you are minding or intend to mind 2 children, minimum 1 Full Time and 1 Part Time. It is recommended that only 1/3 of funding is spent on consumables like paint, sand, and materials for crafts.
