Was on Sunday last with the theme That they May Have Life. The celebration of World Mission Day marks the sharing the message of Faith and hope with the Christian world everywhere. The life of faith which guides us in living out the Gospel requires us to be conscious of our brothers and sisters where there is great poverty and danger to life. Prayers were offered at parish Masses for all who work in difficult circumstances on the missions and for those who have not yet heard the Good News. This is also the Sunday when the collection forThe Propogation of the Faith is taken up.
Sale of Work
In keeping with Mission Sunday, the local Apostolic Society held their 45th annual Sale of Work in the parochial hall on Sunday evening last in aid of the foreign missions. As usual the event was a big attraction and was a great success. Canon Owen Devaney welcomed all and admired some of the hand crafts on display and he spoke of the great work being carried by the members and supporters who provide much needed funds for projects in third world countries where modern conveniences are unheard of. The members wish to thank all who supported.

The budget has come and gone and it looks like the few extra euro in some incomes will soon be forgotten as water charges continue to dominate the airwaves. In this area where private wells and group water schemes are part of every-day life some of the hardships endured by families who do not have proper drinking water are indeed cause for concern.
