The late Frankie Murphy
It’s with much sadness and genuine regret that we record the untimely death of Frankie Murphy of Aughagreagh which occurred at the Regional Hospital in Mullingar on Saturday, October 11th last. Frankie had celebrated his 50th birthday in August and he had been in failing health since July of this year but his death came as a shock to his family, neighbours and many friends. Frankie will be sadly missed by his son, Darragh, daughter Leah, their mam Debbie, his heartbroken parents Pat and Ellie Jo, his brother Dermott and sisters Imelda Cooke (Athlone) and Dolores (Dublin), his nephews and nieces, his in laws and friends we offer sincere and deepest sympathy to them at this very sad time. His remains reposed at Dermot’s residence in Aughagreagh from Tuesday until Wednesday evening when they were removed to St.Colmcille’s church in Aughnacliffe and his funeral Mass was on Thursday morning following which he was laid to rest in Purth cemetery. Huge crowds attended all ceremonies proof of the esteem in which Frankie and the Murphy family are held in the local community and indeed further afield. May he rest in peace.
