During the past few days, the old ‘St. Elizabeth’s National School’ building has been demolished to be replaced by a state of the art new National School with the SNU being built on the site of the old building. The stone on the old has a date of 1905 and it is an opportune time to remember all those who passed through the doors of the school over the past 109 years, both as pupils and staff and especially the Sisters of Mercy who provided so much to our community in the past and continue to do so.
