There was widespread regret in Carrigallen and surrounding areas at the death of Pauline Donohoe, nee McCabe, Bridge House, Gortermone, Carrigallen, peacefully at her residence, following a short illness. Pauline came from Druminbaun in the neighbouring parish Aughavas and following her marriage to Frank, she moved to Gortermone where they reared their family, and ran a very successful shop, filling station and garage, til they retired some years back. They also ran a mini bus service. Now their son Peter runs the garage and minibus service. Pauline was a very outgoing lady with a great sense of humour. One of her hobbies was attending bingo where she was lucky on many occasions. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Sympathy is extended to her husband Frank, sons Sean, Peter, Oliver and Declan, daughters Veronica, Alice, Caroline and Paula, daughters-in-law, Amanda and Eileen, sons-in-law Paul and Pat, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and their families and a large circle of friends and neighbours. Removal from her residence to St Mary’s Church, Carrigallen and funeral Mass was celebrated by Fr D Murray PP with burial to the adjoining cemetery. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a hanam uasal.
