Lotto: The Arva Football Club Lotto draw was held in the Club Rooms on Monday 26th May. Jackpot €6,100-00 – Numbers drawn 11 /15 / 16 / 30 – No winner. €50 each – Arthur Mc Cabe, Corlisbratten. M.J. Sheridan, Crott, Moyne. Eimear Gormley, Pound Street. The Jackpot on Monday night last 26th May was €6,150-00. Lotto Envelopes can be left in the Letterbox in St Patrick’s Hall next to the National School for collection on Monday evenings and everyone is welcome to attend the draw. The club have an option of paying by direct debit for anyone wishing to join the LOTTO and give the club much needed support. Monster Bingo continues in St Patrick’s Hall, Arva each Sunday night with a good attendance. With over €3,150-00 on offer each night (€1,000 on page 9) it is one of the best sessions around. Eyes down at 9pm.
For the Arva Church of Ireland Parish Group – Sunday 8th June – Service of Holy Communion in Columbkille at 10am and in Gowna at 11.30am. Service of Morning Prayer in Carrigallen 10am and in Arva at 11.30pm.
A Relic of St Oliver Plunkett will visit the Chapel of the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, St Patrick’s College, Cavan on Tuesday next ,10th June arriving at the Centre at 10am and will be available for Veneration until 9pm that night. Mass will be held in the Chapel at 1pm and 7pm. Petitions may be sent to the St Oliver Plunkett Novena, Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cavan. All Petitions received will be placed beside the Relic during its visit and in front of the Blessed Sacrament before that. All are welcome for this very special event.
The Sick and Housebound will be visited this Thursday, 5th June from 10am onwards in the Arva and Coronea areas.
Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Sunday week – 15th June. Bookings with Cormac O’Donnell, Arva Post Office before this Sunday, 8th June. Cost €5.
Blessing of graves
The Blessing of Graves in Coronea Cemetery will take place on Sunday, 17th August at 12.15pm. Plot owners are asked to have the final resting place of their loved ones looking neat and tidy.
St. Mary’s National School, Arva will hold an Open Day for all new Junior Infants for September 2014 and anyone that may be interested in enrolling in our school on this Friday, 6th June 2014 from 2-4pm.

The Social Club will hold their monthly Coffee morning on this Friday - 6th June. The Monster Raffle will be held at this meeting under the supervision of Sgt Willie Ward. First prize will be 2 nights B&B/Evening Meal for 2 people in Westport, Co Mayo. Second prize €100 Voucher for Viewmount House, Longford and many more wonderful prizes. Craft and Fair
Sunday, 22nd June 2014 in the Community Centre, Milltown, Co. Cavan from 12pm - 5pm. This year will be our second time hosting this fair which is being held in conjunction with the Milltown Mid-Summer Trad Festival. This event will feature approximately 30 stands showcasing handmade crafts, food items, craft supplies and giftware, including, greeting cards, jewellery, artwork, knitting & crochet, fabric crafts, wood crafts, candles & soaps, skincare, glassware, donuts, face painting, paper craft supplies, jewellery making supplies and more. Friday night last saw the start of the monthly residency of the Arvagh Music Club. On the last Friday of every month, the Breffni Arms Hotel will host an open music session. All are welcome regardless of ability, so bring your instrument and join in for a great nights craic - Music starts at 10pm till late.
