Longford Toastmasters are holding a Table Quiz in Longford Rugby Club on Thursday the 27th of March at 9pm (team registration at 8.30pm). Table of four persons cost 40 euro. Raffle and spot prizes on the night. All welcome.
Two year re-certification continues in the Hall, Carrickedmond for people who are now due this re-certification. If you are due you will be contacted by text with a date and time when this re-certification will take place. Please indicate by return text if you can attend when contacted. Sincere sympathy to our instructor Mike Skelly on the sad death of his wife Ann who passed away following a long illness on Sunday morning last. As a mark of respect to the late Ann Skelly, the two year re-certification class arranged for this Thursday night and the meeting arranged for Monday night the 31st March has been cancelled and will be rearranged for a later date.
Well done to the Carrickedmond senior team who got the new football season off to a good start on Saturday evening last with a two point win over Sean Connolly’s in the division 2 league. Hopefully the team will continue their winning ways in round two.
Rehearsals continue in Carrickedmond church on Wednesday nights from 8pm to 9pm. Next folk mass will take place in Carrickedmond church on Sunday next the 30th March ’14 at 10am mass. New members always welcome.
The ladies club would like to thank all who supported their recent fundraising quiz in the Rustic Inn. It was a very enjoyable night with questions to please some and puzzle others. To the Colehill national school hurling team who were winners of the division one national schools hurling competition which was held in Pearse Par, Longford recently. This is the first time a team from the parish brought home silverware for hurling competition and great credit must go to the team and the team trainers.
The harvest festival table quiz will take place in “Gav’s” Bar, Kenagh on this Friday night, the 28th March at 8:30pm. All proceeds will go towards St Christopher’s. Please support.
