Open Day

Open Day

Michael Heslin and his friends pulled out all the stops on Thursday last as he hosted a Social Farming Open Day on his farm in Drumgrania. It was a wonderful day for the many who turned up and they were all treated the very best. Michael has been part of a pilot scheme of ‘Social Farming Across Borders’ which is promoted as a viable option for achieving improved quality of life for people who use the social services and for farm families, through enhancing social inclusion and connecting farmers with their communities. It was a great experience for Michael and the people who engaged with him in his farming activities over the period of the scheme.

Well done Michael.

Well done to our clubman, Niall Woods and his Leitrim Under 21 team mates on their fantastic championship win over the reigning All Ireland champions, Galway on Saturday evening last in Páirc Sean. It sets them up for a plum Connacht final clash with neighbours, Roscommon. We wish the Leitrim seniors the best of luck in their crunch league game with Tipperary on Sunday next in Carrick. Congratulations to Mohill club lady, Maureen Lynch on being honoured with the President’s Award for her lifetime contribution to the GAA at her local club.
