On Saturday next at 12pm in the Thomas Ashe Hall the local Tidy Towns are hosting a fundraising auction. Items include furniture, tools, electrical goods, bikes, turf, timber, antiques. If you wish to donate you can leave items in the hall this Friday night from 8-9pm or contact Padraig Farrell, Michael Carrigy, Frank Reehill, Carmel Reynolds, PJ Murtagh, Frank Reynolds or Seamus Cahill.
The monthly whist drive takes place next Tuesday, April 1 in Currycahill Community Hall at the usual time.
Numbers drawn: 10, 12, 14, 27. No jackpot winner. 3 X €20: Alec Jones, Orlaith Higgins and Sean McKeon. Jackpot €10,000. Draw for the month of April will be held in the Stag’s Head on Monday next at 9.30pm.
A Wake with a Difference
The local drama group are in rehearsals at the moment for their play ‘A Wake with a Difference’. The date for the play is Saturday, May 10 in the Thomas Ashe Hall, with proceeds going towards costs associated with the refurbishment of the hall. Tickets will be on sale shortly.
Tickets will be on sale shortly for the fundraising dance on Easter Sunday night in Rawle’s in aid of costs associated with our playground. We hope that every family will support this function as this facility will benefit all the children of the community for many years to come. It is planned to open the playground on Easter Sunday after Mass. Hopefully the weather will improve between now and then!
On Sunday March 16th last a very successful fundraiser was held in this area when members of the Ballymore football club and representatives from LCRL drop in Centre in Longford led by Josephine Stroker got together and organised a tractor, cycle, motor cycle, lorry and vintage car run to raise much needed funds for Suicide Awareness and for the Ballymore club development fund.
