Mrs Kathleen Caherly would like to thank her family who all came to help out including her son, Michael from New York and all grandchildren during her recent illness. Thank you to Fr Sean Casey who celebrated mass for me and all who attended this mass. Fr Sean was inspirational to me throughout my illness. God bless you Fr Sean. I also wish to thank the public health nurse Marie McGivney who has been an invaluable assistance to me over many years, my nieces Mary and Bridie who were a great assistance to me in Mullingar Hospital and the Manor Edgeworthstown. All who offered prayers, sent Mass and get well cards. To Ennybegs ICA May Campbell and the ICA federation, Elsie Moxham and the patchwork group. Hillside Club Ballinalee. I am deeply indebted to everyone, thank you. The parish wish Kathleen who is now in her own home recuperating comfortably a speedy recovery to great health.

New baby congratulations

To Garven and Mairead, (nee McKenna), Collum, Clonmacart, Ohill, Co Longford on the recent birth of a bouncy baby boy. The parish extend good wishes to the proud new parents of their first baby, grandparents John Patsy and Margaret McKenna, Ohill, Declan and Mary Collum, Ballybofey, Co Donegal for a great future of health and happiness and the odd good nights sleep. Church notes

St Mary’s, Ennybegs, Masses Wednesday/ Thursday at 10am, Friday 7.30pm. Parish cluster Fr Ciaran McGovern PP, Clonguish will celebrate masses in Killoe parish this coming weekend. Fr Sean Casey will be celebrating masses in Drumlish/ Ballinamuck, Fr Patsy McDermott will celebrate mass in Clonguish. Reminder confirmation will be celebrated in St Mary’s Ennybegs Killoe parish on Thursday, 13 March 2014 at 3pm. First holy communion Saturday 17 May 2014 at 12 noon. First confession Thursday March 27 , 2014 at 7pm.


Sincere sympathy is extended to Harry, Brien, David Hughes, Melview, Longford on the sad bereavement of their mother, Mrs Mai Hughes who was laid to rest last week. The parish express condolence to her sons, Harry, David, Brien, daughters in law Mary (nee Duke), grandchildren sister Lily, extended families neighbours, friends. Requiem mass was celebrated in St Marys Church Newtownforbes with burial in Ballymacormack cemetery. May she rest peacefully.

Emmet Og GAA Annual dinner dance on Saturday, 18 January 2014 in the Longford Arms Hotel Longford. Dinner served at 8pm. Music by Pascal, Liz and Dave. Admission 30 euro. Community Games

Well done to the children who participated in the Badminton County Finals during the weekend. The team beat Clonbronny, Lanesboro and AMG to become County champions. Well done to all involved. The Draughts County final takes place this weekend, and we would like to wish all involved the best of luck.
