The newly refurbished Department of Social Protection Local Office in Granard has reopened to the public again. Staff attend there on Monday mornings. Hours of opening are from 10.00am to 12 noon. It is great to see the facility open again saving clients having to travel to the head offices on Ballinalee Road Longford.
The Market resumes on this Friday, 17 January at Upper Main Street, next door to Granard Post Office. Trading commences at 8.30am. until 11.00am. Looking forward to seeing all our customers again for 2014.

St. Mary’s GA.A.
The AGM of St. Mary’s Club is due to take place on this Saturday 18 January. It is hoped to have more new people to come on board for the coming year as it takes a lot of voluntary work and efforts to run a club. A full attendance is requested.

Spirit of Mercy Award
Congratulations to Bernice Masterson Rinchoolagh Granard who was the main recipient of the 2013 Spirit of Mercy award in Cnoc Mhuire Secondary School Granard. Others who received certificates of merit were Jonathan English; Laura Callaghan; Siobhan Hynes and Danielle Kane. The award is based on core values of care and concern in school, home and community.
Prayer Meetings are held every Monday night at Rath Mhuire Resource Centre commencing at 8.30pm.
Legion of Mary
Meetings are now held in the Community Centre every Thursday night at 8.30pm. This is a special time of prayer to Our Lady. If you wish to join the Legion you are welcome to come to any of the meetings.

The group would like to thank all who supported our play in the Community Center Granard on 8 November, 2013 which was a great success for our group.
