The Annual General meeting of Drumreilly G.A.A. Club was held in the Club room, Carrickmakeegan on last Saturday evening. The following Officers were elected for 2014: Presidents: Fr. Recent Deaths

The death has taken place of Mrs. Mary Ellen Higgins, nee Bradley, Ballymote and formerly Corrawallen and Derrylahan. Her funeral took place on Sunday last. Sympathy is extended to her husband, family, her brother Hugh, sisters Dena and Nuala and other relatives. Sympathy is also tendered to the relatives of Miss Kathleen Banaghan, Mohill, whose remains were laid to rest on Tuesday last. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a nanamacha.

Irish Dancing Classes

The Mc Cartin SD will recommence classes in Drumreilly Community Centre on Tuesday 14th and Thursday 16th January at 5:30pm and Ballinamore Community Centre on Saturday 18th January at 10am. For further info check out the Mc Cartin SD website on

Class Swap

Miss Kayla Maguire, daughter of Oliver and Caroline Maguire, Aughalough was one of four students from Ballinamore P.P.S. To experience a fortnight in the Polish education recently. In their ten days of observation they got a deep insight into the Polish school

system, and on their return are sharing their views on a special T.V. programme.

Lotto results

There was no Jackpot winner in Jackie’s Bar on Wednesday January 1st. The numbers drawn were 3, 10, 11 and 15. Active Age Snippets

Sixteen members were in attendance at the weekly meeting on Wednesday last. Among the items on the agenda were the following: the sale of Christmas wreaths, a review of the Christmas Party, the Rice Intervention scheme, the upcoming A.G.M., the South Leitrim Forum, the Valentine’s Social, proposed activities for 2014 and Membership Fees.

The Group’s Annual General has been fixed for Wednesday January 22nd. The St. Valentine’s Social will be held in the Community Centre on Tuesday night February 11th. All the Christmas wreaths were sold. Our Group will be hosting the Forum in the Community Centre on this Wednesday January 15th. Members are requested to attend before 2.30p.m. Membership fees will be due by mid February. A Bowling session with the Fenagh Group members
