Recent Death The death took place suddenly last week at his residence of James Conefrey, Cloncoose. Removal of his remains took place from St. Joseph’s Hospital Chapel, Longford on Halloween night to St. Joseph’s Church, Cornageeha. Mass for the repose of his soul was celebrated on All Saints Day by Fr. John Quinn, and burial took place afterwards in Drumlish new cemetery. A gentle and quiet man, James was an avid reader, who was well versed in current affairs and a great historian. We tender sympathy with his brother Michael in Birmingham, sisters Rose in Dublin, Kathleen in Clondra and Bridie in Kells, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and wonderful neighbours who always looked out for him.
May he rest in peace.
Rehearsals for the Gortletteragh ‘Mock Wedding’ play are well underway. Keep December 13th free. Choral practice continues at 8 pm on Friday night. New members welcome.
Moldova Shoebox Appeal
Sadly Outreach Moldova Operation Santa (the shoebox appeal) will not be taking place this year as the recession takes its toll on the charity. Kathleen Kelleher wishes to thank the many people in Gortletteragh Parish and surrounding areas who gave shoeboxes over the past number of years. You made a lot of children in the orphanage very happy.
The death took place last week of Bridie Browne, Two Mile Town, Naas, Co Kildare and formerly of Clonee in her 99th year. Following her funeral mass on Thursday she was laid to rest in Cloone cemetery. We tender sympathy with her sons, daughters, family, relatives and friends.
We also offer our condolences to Paul Quinn, Drumshanbo South on the recent death of his brother, John in the USA. May they rest in peace.
