Our trip recently to the Kilmainham Gaol Museum and Arbour Hill Cemetery was a fantastic experience. This is one of the biggest unoccupied Gaol in these islands, where it gave an insight into what it was like to have been confined for punishment and correction between 1796 – 1924, and leader from the various rebellions of 1798, 1803, 1848, 1867 and 1916 were detained there. Then onto military cemetery at Arbour Hill where the resting place of 14 of the executed leaders of the 1916 rising.
